This notice covers the Google Play edition of JukeStage for Android. JukeStage lets you play your own media, read books and access radio, podcasts and streams you choose.
Who we are
JukeStage is operated by Centre One Software Ltd, company number 17441904, Belford Street, Horden, Peterlee, County Durham, SR8 4BD, United Kingdom. For privacy questions or requests, email support@jukestage.co.uk.
Your media, books and settings
The app reads files and folders you select. Your local media library, book contents and reading positions are not uploaded to JukeStage by the local playback and reader features. Book imports create a private copy on your device; your original file is unchanged. Preferences, favourites, library information and reading progress are stored on your device. You can remove local app data through Android settings, subject to Android’s storage and backup behaviour.
Five-day trial and Google Play purchases
The app sends a randomly generated installation identifier and a private installation credential securely to our licensing service to manage the five-day trial and confirm access. This is not a hardware identifier, and you do not need a separate JukeStage account. Our service stores installation and trial records, including a hash of the credential and trial dates.
Google Play handles payment. To verify or restore an unlock, the app sends the Google Play purchase token and relevant product and app information to our licensing service, which checks the purchase with Google. Our purchase ledger stores token hashes and verification state. We do not receive your payment-card details or Google password. Access checks may contact the service again to confirm current entitlement. Removing the app or its local data does not refund or cancel a Google Play purchase.
Licensing information is required to start a trial or verify paid access. If it cannot be provided or verified, access may be unavailable. These checks make automated access decisions based on trial and purchase status. Contact us if you believe a decision is incorrect.
Optional online services
Radio and podcast searches send your search terms to the relevant directory, including Radio Browser and Apple’s podcast search service. Loading artwork, feeds or streams connects to the selected content host. Those services receive connection information such as your IP address and the requested resource and handle it under their own privacy policies.
If you enter provider credentials, they are used to connect to the provider you choose. Remembered credentials are protected on your device. They are not sent to Google or JukeStage as part of our licensing checks. We do not supply or request your provider login details for support.
JukeStage does not include its own advertising service. Third-party radio, podcasts and streams may contain advertising supplied by their publishers. Google Play and Android also operate under Google’s privacy terms; see Google’s Privacy Policy.
Support and service security
If you contact us, we receive the email address, message and information you choose to provide. Please do not send provider passwords, payment-card details, purchase tokens or private media. Our hosting service may process connection and security logs, including IP addresses, to operate and protect the service.
Why we use information and who receives it
We use licensing and support information to provide the service you request and perform our contract with you. We also rely on legitimate interests to protect the service, prevent misuse and investigate faults, and on legal obligations where records must be retained by law.
Fasthosts provides our hosting and support email. Google receives purchase-verification requests. The directories and content providers you choose receive the requests described above. We do not sell your personal information. External services may process information outside the United Kingdom under their own privacy arrangements.
Retention and deletion
We retain licensing records for as long as needed to recognise used trials, restore paid access, handle cancellations and resolve disputes or legal obligations. Trial expiry or uninstalling the app does not automatically erase those records. We retain support correspondence while it remains relevant to the enquiry and any related obligations.
Server backups are taken daily and retained for 14 days. Deleting an active record does not immediately remove it from existing backups; those copies expire through the backup cycle. Contact support@jukestage.co.uk to request deletion or ask about information held about you. Some records may need to be retained for the purposes explained above.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information.
Right to object: You may object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Contact support@jukestage.co.uk and we will consider your request.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/. You can contact us first, but you do not have to.
Changes
We may update this notice as the app or its services change. The date above identifies the latest version.
